The pneumechanical expanding shaft with lugs working principle :

Expansion is accomplished by one or more air activated pistons that mechanically engage the expandors self-centering the core.Expansion can be spring-activated so as to grant the core is gripped also in case of air leakage in the machine.

12-Inch Pneumechanical Expanding Shaft Technical Specifications

It is equipped with 10 evenly distributed aluminum expansion pins around the circumference. The surface of these pins adopts hard anodizing treatment, which greatly improves wear resistance, surface hardness and service life, ensuring stable and reliable clamping for a long time.
Designed with 3 guide roller strips on the outer circumference, with the outer diameter of the guide rollers at φ304 mm. This structure provides stable centering and support during operation, effectively reducing friction and ensuring smooth unwinding/rewinding.
The piston is designed with a 7° angle, which enables stable and synchronous expansion. The non‑expanded diameter is φ302.4 mm, and the maximum expanded diameter exceeds φ309 mm, offering sufficient expansion stroke to adapt to different inner diameters of coils.
After full expansion, the radial runout is tested with a 304.8 mm measuring ring, and the runout value is ≤ 0.1 mm. Ultra‑low runout ensures high‑precision winding and unwinding, greatly improving product quality and stability.
The maximum load capacity reaches 400 kg, giving the shaft strong bearing performance to meet heavy‑load industrial applications while maintaining stable operation.
The overall weight of the shaft is less than 150 kg, achieving a reasonable balance between strength and lightweight. It is easier to install, handle and replace, reducing equipment load.
The entire shaft is free of copper, zinc and nickel, complying with strict material and environmental requirements, making it suitable for special industrial environments with material restrictions.
